For some reason, my brake lights are only working sporadically. The third brake light (high mount) always works, the tail lights, however, seem to come and go. Any suggestions? I have a 99 Expy EB 5.4 4wd. Thanks..
Might want to check the plug at the switch at the brake pedal sometimes they can come loose, OR I can't remember if there is an adjuster on it for the switch
What is the MFS? I tow a camper and want to make sure that the brake lights do not fail while I am towing since you cant see the high mount in that situation.
That's the turn signal, 4-way flasher, and usually, the wiper control switch located in the column.
The brake light signal for the high-mount goes directly to that lamp. It also goes to the MFS whenre it is split/modified when needed to operate the rear signals.
If your Expy has the factory towing package, the trailer lights are tapped off prior to the MFS, so they will work properly regardless of the truck's corners. If the trailer lighting is an aftermarket or a kluge job, you're on your own.
