I just want to make sure that I am not losing my mind. After my 04 6.0 was reflashed it seems like it is down on power. Has any one else noticed this? My dad said that his felt down on power, and I thought that he was crazy.
I agree! Mine was in aprox. 3 weeks ago and I feel a noticable difference. My friend just got back from Mexico with his and he also noticed a difference. Thats the way to keep stuff from breaking, just de-tune it so it has to work harder to do the job for which it was designed. I'm sure that will decrease the life span for the guys who pull 15k on a regular basis.
I wonder if there is any corelation with Diesel prices. Less power+pushing truck harder+burning through the fuel= profits for the oil companies and a kick back to ford. Just a thought. I sure would like to get the power back since this is camping season in Colorado.
I had the same issue on my 05'. I took it back to the dealer and told them to either put it back or do it again. They said there was another reflash recommended due to poor instructions on the recall tsb. It ran a lot different after that. I still put the edge platinum in it.... just for the gauges its worth it.

Are you saying that the second reflash brought the performance back up to where it was before the first flash? If so, that is good intell.
I haven't done the new reflash yet as my truck is running so good. I don't want to mess that up so I'll leave it alone. Another thing to consider though, for you that noticed lesser performance after reflash, is that when reflashed there is a strategy learning period the computer needs to go through before things settle out. Just a thought. Maybe give it a week or two of hard driving before determining the results of the flash??? In any case, please keep posting results as I will probably need to do the reflash eventually on my 05.
I towed after the initial recall flash and it was poor. Don't know how I made it through the stoplights sometimes. Had very poor power. Called and complained and they said there was a mishap on how to reflash correctly to the new. I also mentioned to verify it or it was going to be back again. Back up on gas mileage and power, prior to installing the Edge system.
its actually not a reflash to correct the problem. The new reflash turns the egr off after 5 minutes idle time. After flashing, you are supposed to clear kam-get eot up to operating temp-then let idle for five minutes minimum. Its the last part that wasnt performed. Hard to believe letting one idle for five minutes will correct it, Huh?
