hey guys,
i had mbrp system on my 01 f-250 7.3L and i loved it. now i have a 06 f-250 6.0 and eveybody is telling me, "ohh u gotta go banks". i would like to try banks but to tell u the truth, the systems look about the same and the banks is about $300 more. so i guess my question is why should i pay $300 more for the banks?
thanks guys
keep it ford
I've recently put the 4" mbrp system on my truck and I have a banks six gun. I'm with you, the price difference was enough for me to decide. Its a good kit plus the down pipe is 4" compared to banks 3 1/2". If I could do it again I would still go with the mbrp.

Concerning exhaust call us were the oldest MBRP dealer in the USA and have seen all the 6.0 issues come and go. The MBPR or AFE systems will allow you to bolt your cat in place totally stock, the Banks will make you cut the cat in two to install it, Ford isn't too keen on this. Both AFE and MBRP also have a bolt in cat test pipe if you want to really hear the turbo too, two bolts and one clamp is all it takes to swap it around.
mark, thanks for the info. im not to worried about the install as my friend wons a muffler shop so everything will be welded (not bolted). i know this sounds like a newbie comment but im more interested in the sound. im going for that big block diesel sound. i want lots of engine but not so much turbo. thanks again, when the time comes i will deffinatly call u guys up.
Ok I got you, when you have the go pedal down it'll sound just like what you want, when driving around town you'll hear more turbo though. No way around that just the nature of the VRT turbo!
hey mark, whats up with the new mbrp smokers! do u guys have them? have u heard them? and whats the price? ive looked on mbrp's website but all they have is pics. if there not to expensive im all over those!
gopedoligist, I recently purchased the Banks Monster exhaust after experiencing performance problems climbing the grade between El Centro and San Diego pulling a 12k# 5th wheeler. My first choice was to purchase the MBRP exhaust, but I couldn't find a dealer to install it and there was a performance shop nearby that had the Banks exhaust in stock so I had them install it. On this site, it is pretty clear that the MBRP exhaust is the preferred exhaust, and I respect that. What I have experienced in performance is definitely improved with the Banks, and the MBRP would probably have been just as good. Cost is the difference. The downpipe is 3.5" in both systems, and 4" the rest of the way. I can only speak for myself, but the after market exhaust has been a big plus in performance.
They are a little short in supply but we have been selling them as fast as we can get them in stock, in some cases when someome needs them NOW we drop ship them from MBRP when possible too! They are the ONLY system I am aware of that uses polished 304 stainless for the stacks vs the chrome others use that gets pitted over time etc. Costs a little more but it is a complete bolt on system from the turbo back! Call us if you have any questions etc.
