I just bought a set of the amber teardrop cab marker lights. I did some searching around and these seem to have been installed on alot of the 67-72 p/u's. My question on the wiring is this. On these years of trucks the park lights go out when you pull the headlights on. I would like to wire it to my headlight switch but would like to be able to run the lights with my headlights. Is there a post on the switch that has power that I can tie into to run them with my headlights?
Also, I have yet to see what the spacing is on the lights. Are they ran across the roof on even spacing or do they run the clust of 3 in the middle and the ends further out? Anybody have any dimensions? Thanks!
Just went out and climbed up on my hood and took a measurement. There's one light on centerline and the others are spaced at 11-1/2" centers from there. They are all evenly spaced out and not 1-3-1. The tricky part is the they're not in a perfectly straight line as they follow the curvature of the front of the roof.
I'm not real clear on how they're wired, but I believe they run through a marker-light relay and from there to the headlight switch. That keeps them from going out with the front indicators.
You can kind of see them in my gallery. If you need a better idea of spacing and such, I'll try to take a couple of overhead pics and more measurements during daylight.

Thanks Vern69,
Really appreciate the measurements. I understand what you mean about the curvature of the cab. Wiring shouldn't be a problem. I actually found that theres a bullet style factory connector under the dash that is there for the light option. I did some digging under the dash last night and found it with a test light. Pull the parklights on, shows hot, pull the headlights on stays hot. Gonna be simple! Thanks
