Arrow Engine rebuild kits

I need someone to recommed a good engine rebuild kit for the 2.9. I have mine out of the BII and want to get on it within the next month or so. When I took it apart the biggest problem I found were extremely worn connecting rod bearings. I mean they're shot! Also the lifters are not so good. Everything else appears good but I want to go the whole way and use a master kit. I'm not doing it for performance...just for fun! So i really don't need the high end parts. Besides, I'm poor! (Aren't we all now that gas is so high?)

But i have seen master rebuild kits online for like 800 but i cant remember where i saw those at, Im sure if you do a little research online you'll find something in your price range

Most parts stores can probably hook you up for ~$700. I just put $750 in my 2.3l with a new clutch kit and slave cylinder, plus a master rebuild kit. I went all out as well, a cam kit (lifters, rockers, timing belt, cam, etc.), plus new pistons, all new bearings, gaskets, seals etc. You may also check LMC truck, I don't know what the quality level is, but I think their prices are competitive, and I've never heard anyone complain about the quality of the parts they ordered there.

yea but the 2.3l is an American engine and is cheaper to rebuild. the 2.9 on the other hand is built in Cologne Germany and that is why they cost so much to rebuild.

Northern Auto Parts has a complete 2.9 kit for 461.46.

Do a Google search for Northern Auto Parts because it used to be against the rules here to post links. Probably still is.

Double that number with ease when you figure in the crank and heads, both items that need attention in a rebuild.
