mock i have a nice straight tailgate with all hardware on it but it has a little rustdown on the right hand side otherwise good want $150.00 shipping thanks larry
thanks larry, but im in the process of trying a couple different options, #1 im trying to repair the orig. gate (if i can save the orig. great).
#2 im also experamenting w/a custom gate of wood, kind of looks like a fence gate, and will swing out.and finally #3 i got a hold of 2,70,bronco gates, and am trying to figure out a way to possibly make one work . early bronco gates are not wide enough, but, may splice the two together, dont know yet...read somewhere that it might be worth trying cause its different, its lines match pretty well, just not enough width,..thanks again if my plans dont work out i'll let everyone know on this mes. board, later and keep on truckin, mocky
Mocky, those things are made up of panels and welded together. Go with #1 and if you are successful, You could build em full time. All you would need to do is about 4 a day and you could make a thousand dollars a day.

In the still cool hours of the night, you can hear chevys rusting away.
Go to the library and look at a california, nevada or arizona phone book and call a couple of junk yards. You'll find what you need for about $50 bucks plus shipping. All related hardware and no rust! Everyone else do the same.
check your local bodyshop. i just bought a brand new repro for my 71 long wide bed for $168.00. i think their supplier was in ohio.i saw the same price in a different supplier's book also.
Hey, I'm doing the body work on my 71 style side and I noticed the tailgate is really sloppy at the pivot points, I was wondering if the trucks came stock with nylon bushings in the pivot cups or something like that. Has anyone ever removed and installed the aluminum emblem on the tailgate, I'm curious as to what problems I'm going to run into trying to put it back on.
