I only use the stick on now and have never had an issue with them coming loose. I put the inchannel ones on my 04 and when I removed them, I had a wind noise when the window was all the way up. It must have crushed the weather stripping inside the window track while up on one of the many hot summer days we have. Just my personal experience here on why I will never again mess with the window seals !
Sorry to dig this back up, but this was the most recent post I could find searching for window vents.
I was wondering if adding the window visors, stick-on or in-channel, increases wind noise in the cab. I do a lot of highway driving and I've become spoiled by how quiet the inside of the cab is at any speed. I would assume the slimline in-channels would be quieter, but I really value the opinions and insight I've found on this forum. Thanks for any help you can provide.
I have the AVS in-channel ones, got them new off ebay. I like the look of these better and all windows fit great, nice and snug. EXCEPT, of course, for the driver's side. I get some wind noise now, nothing too loud, but I have very sensitive ears to noises in my vehicles, and like you, had gotten spoiled by the quietness. I think it's a crap shoot. It could've been a bad passenger vent instead of a driver vent, just depends on the kit you buy and how that particular kit turned out on that particular day.
I have used the tape style before and it lasted for about 3 years when the blew off on the highway. I now own the channel style and I'm completey happy with it. After installing them , you must leave your window all the way in the closed position for 24-48 hours.
I had Ventvisors inchannel ones. THey were TOO thick and made the mirrors bulge out. I got rid of them and bought myself a Weathertech set. More expensive, but so much more worth it

I run the Weather-tech inchannels on my 2006 F-150. I don't have any complaints whatsoever...
I picked up a in channel set at A&A auto a parts store around me for $59 two days ago. They are the weathertech's and they were on sale and cheaper than the stick ons
I had the stickons on my last vehicle, a 1998. They stayed stuck even after one of them got cracked.
On my new Screw I asked my local supplier (where I bought my bed cover) about the inchanels. He told me they quit selling them due to problems with the fit and some would break on the corners when the window was raised. SO, I opted for the stickons again even though I think the in channels are a much cleaner look.
I use AVS stick ons on all of my trucks and have never had a problem. The key is in the prep work using the alcohol prep pads.I have seen the inchannel ones get caught by the window on closing.
weathertech is extra slim so it's as if its not even in the channel..there is no interference with the window what so ever. Its the best one out there. It costs a little extra (made in germany) and its definitely worth it. Take it from a guy who owned a pair of in-channel AVS...
P.S. My friend has a stick on visors on his Frontier and when they came off, it caused paint damage. The paint does not match becaue the area that the visor was on is much newer than the other parts of the truck where it was UV damaged.

Why remove them after that long? The last set I had lasted 8 years and still looked good, other than a crack in one. I sold the vehicle with them on there.
Just curious.
I think I am sold on the WeatherTech ones myself. I have had on my truck in a little over a years time 3 sets. I tried the Ventvisor brand (broke after a month, not sure why). Then I bought the AVS in-channel (windows had trouble going up and down, and I had wind noise with the windows up). Now I have OEM visors that lasted all of 2 days before coming undone from the visor. The tape is still on the truck, but is coming off the visor itself. I guess the only choice left is WeatherTech, which seem to get awesome reviews.
*UPDATE*
Just placed my order with WeatherTech. Just hope they do not get broke in shipping
