Vibration at 2000 rpms when accelerating?

My 2006 now has about 2500 miles on it and have recently noticed vibration or shutter on moderate to heavy accelaration. It happens briefly as the needle sweeps past 2000 rpms and is more pronounced the harder you accelerate. I noticed this only now because I probably have been going easy on the truck until recently, breaking in and such. I do not remember this behavior in my 04, but my memory might be failing me. Any thoughts, thanks.

there has been known issues with vibrations taking off from a stop. That one says driveline angle is too steep. Put shims in the driveshaft carrier bearing(no more than 3). that one happens at 1500-2000 rpms

That's interesting, I think the vibration is coming from the engine, but then again I could be wrong.

does this thing seem like it will jerk you out of the seat if you stay at it ? Got 2 6.0's in the neighborhood that are making drinkers out of us. They will not do it all the time only when they want to and at cruise or accelaration. Both have been in the shop and cant seem to fix the problem. Almost like fuel is shutting off or boost is being diverted ... what say you all?

I just experienced the exact same symptoms. However, in my case it was caused by an injector, gone bad.

I have the same problem with my '06 with 1500 miles, especially during moderate accelleration. It is also really bad at a constant +-45 mph on a smooth road. Going back to the dealer next week.

I should have mentioned in my post, I knew about the injector from my Superchip diagnostic. It took the local dealership two days to figure it out and now, after it had been replaced, everything runs smooth as ever again. I have now 6K miles on the truck.

<TABLE border=0><TBODY><TR><TD width=230>FORD:
</TD><TD>1999-2006 F-Super Duty</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

This article supersedes TSB 04-22-7 to update the vehicle model years. ISSUE:

Some 1999-2006 F-Super Duty vehicles may exhibit excessive drive-away shudder or vibration, under moderate to heavy acceleration from a stop. This may be due to driveline angle.

ACTION:

Shim the center carrier bracket downward to correct the condition. Refer to the following Service Procedure.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

When shimming the center carrier bracket, a maximum of three (3) 1/4" shims may be used (EOTZ-4A209-A). When refastening the carrier bracket use bolt (56564-S2). A 7/16 x 14 grade 5 bolt may be substituted providing that it extends at least three (3) threads past the nut. Use Motorcraft Threadlock 262 (TA-26), and torque bolts to 46 lb-ft (62 N-m).

<TABLE border=0><TBODY><TR><TD width=80>NOTE:</TD><TD>IF THE VEHICLE IS NORMALLY LOADED, ROAD TESTS WILL NEED TO BE PERFORMED WITH THE VEHICLE LOADED.</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>
  1. Before beginning the repair, road test the vehicle to gain a feel for the harshness of the shudder/vibration.
  2. Install one (1) shim, (DO NOT use Threadlock on the bolts at this point), re-road test vehicle.
    1. If condition is corrected, apply Threadlock and torque bolts as directed above.
    2. If condition is not corrected, re-perform Step 2 (to a maximum of three (3) shims) and reevaluate vehicle.

<TABLE border=0><TBODY><TR><TD width=80>NOTE:</TD><TD>IF THE CONDITION IS STILL NOT CORRECTED AFTER INSTALLING A MAXIMUM OF THREE (3) SHIMS, REFER TO WORKSHOP MANUAL SECTION 205-00 FOR FURTHER DIAGNOSTICS.</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>
