Tonight is the tug-a-truck pulls at the Auglaize Co. Fairgrounds, I've been waiting for this day for some time. It's the biggest pull of the year by far with a huge crowd and many many trucks. The 300 is tuned and ready to roll.
I grenaded my M5OD last week and I have no replacement.
Life really is short and we need to enjoy and learn it as much as possible. You might have picked up some new knowledge and tricks at that event, like how not to gernade trannys, or where you could have picked up a replacement. These are words of wisdom from a 54 year young gray back. Enjoy life! That is what it is all about!
What do you plan on replacing the M5OD with? Maybe a ZF-42 or ZF-47? Or an older 4 speed with a granny gear? Also do you happen to know what broke in the M5OD?

I've been eyeing ZFs on car-parts.com, I've given thought to a T19 or even possibly a T18 but I'm going with a ZF.
Not sure what went in the M5, I heard a loud "clank" and it stuck in second gear. I was able to pry it out of gear with the shifter out but after that I lost first and there's no way I could pull on pavement in second.
Something in the toploader possibly, the internals may be fine still. I got more out of that light duty tranny than I should have, so I'll give it credit where it's due.
I'm not sure if I can swing for a fresh ZF so I may play junkyard roulette and hope to have my truck back in action by the middle of July.

Wise words indeed my friend.
I picked up some extra hours this morning to help pay for the replacement tranny and I was fresh as a daisy. There's more pulls coming up later this year, Hopefully the blue beast will be back in action.
