explain wetstacking

Can someone explain wetstacking for me...and why the 6.0L turbo diesel is supposedly more temperamental than other diesels, when it comes to long idling time and so forth??

I think it has something to do with residual fuel building up on the exhaust valve at the stem. Over time it harderns, much faster in the colder climates. This can lead to the valve malfunctioning and the possibility of the valves hitting the pistons. It can also lead to other not so much fun things occuring as well haha.
Make sure to not start the car until after the wait light shuts off. Also, if you need the vehicle to idle then it may be a good idea to have an idle controller.

I hope this helps

As long as you are able to run the engine (put a load on it) after letting the engine idle, You wont have a problem with wetstacking. Getting the exhaust temp up will burnoff any deposits left on the valves. i have 130,000 miles on my 6.0, I let it run everymorning at least 15 min in the summer and up to a 1/2 hour in the winter. I have not had any egr, or turbo problems. A diesel engine is designed to be run hard, and when you dont, thats when wet stacking starts.
