I am considering an Edge with Platinum Outlook monitor. Any experience with this product? How involved is the installation? Any suggestions are appreciated.
I own a 2005 F-350 6.0L with the edge platinum. I bought the chip for speed so the only level I've used is 5 (extreme) and I is just that. This truck really goes..I ran a 14.3 my first time at the drags. Considering this is my only mod I am really impressed. I noticed that the torque converter doesn't lock up till about 80mph so I'm assuming that there is some serious slipping which is why I'm looking into a new torque converter for my truck. If anyone has any reccomendations please send em my way.
Hey Rangeman. I would suggest going to Edge's web site. You can down load the users manual for the product you're interested in and see how involved the installation is. Other than the EGT probe install, it appears to be a pretty simple install. Probably less than 30 minutes. Even the probe install shouldn't be that diffucult.
Mball.... I have been doing some serious research on converters and am getting a Sun Coast... I have seen a grip of different ones (both SC and other brands) in hard driven trucks, and have seen SC and ATS before assembly. I have not heard one disparaging comment about SunCoast and Joe Webb, one of the owners, takes all the time in the world to answer questions and talk about reliability and performance, all the while never 'dissing' the competition. Check them out.
