87-91 body lift differences

I hve a 1988 f150 single cab that has a 4" rough country suspension lift, on 33's. My next project is putting either a 2" or 3" body lift in it. With 2 inches I can redrill holes in the stock bumper brackets. Do you have to play with your shift linkage, shaft or anything like that with the body lifts? Trimming the shroud etc etc?

any input would be much appreciated

-Josh

pretty much yes to everything needs to be modified. a suspention lift is allot better than a body lift.

You shouldnt need to modify everything, I put a 3" on my bronco and I just had to weld an extension to my t-case shifter. My gas filler tube had enough slack and my tranny linkage had enough adjustment.
Just watch all of the above and the brakelines.
If you have any worn out body bushings, nows the time to replace them, I went back with all polybushings and love them.

I love the lift cause it gives me more working room around the bellhousing and the rest of the truck.

I've put a body lift in a 79 supercab and a dodge dakota, so i know how it goes, but am asking if theres a difference on what your have to extend for a 3 inch vs. a 2 inch, and what are those things you need to extend

thanks

Well being it's only 1" differemce, the same will apply to both, you may not need to extend stuff as I only had to extend my t-case shifter, but every truck is different, some people had to extend there tranny linkage olong with the t-case.
Oh, olmost forgot, You will need to either move you radiator, shroud, or cut the bottom of the shroud as the fan will stay with the engine. And something I forgot, I did end up haveing to fab up an extension for my e-brake, as my cable came up about an inch short and was binding were it goes through the body mount.
