compression test on 302
hey guys what is the cylinder compression for a 1979 302 ? my manual is for 289s and it shows 150 with a + or - of 20 lbs . i have a used engine that i finally got running ( mileage is unknown ) all the cylinders are running around 130 to 140 . with the exception of the two center ones on the drivers side head . they are between 124 to 127 . am i ok or should i tear it down ?

I would say your in good shape. It depends on how much modification you are or are not going to do to it. That is good compression.
If you are going to build a 500 horse, you may want to think about tearing it down.
