at idle if you push the timing advance rod in on the drivers side of the injection pump on my truck why does the diesel clatter go away? I have alway heard that it is supposed to make it stumble. This one has me stumped, because it does not stumble it just quiets down. Also it does this if i run it up to 2000 - 2500 RPM and push the rod in. Thanks for the help.
if you havent been using a fuel lube type additive, you may be having the advance piston gawled from lack of sulfur content in the fuel and wont move properly.
I use a additive every fourth tank. But it is going to shop in the morning (kinda scared about putting it in someone elses hands) cuz i got to have this truck for work.
