Winter Use

Ok guys this is what i use my b2's for
http://media.putfile.com/SNOW-SEASON
we were on break and i shot some vid I run 4 b2's durring the winter for the smaller places i do. They are a little built up extra power and weight each one can carry over a ton of product plus the weight of plows and spreader but they look like any other rig Each one has either 7.5 or 8 foot plow. They dont think they can do anything till they start rolling in then look out I have pushed up to 18 inches with these rigs. So keep selling them I keep buying them...

Yea they are beast the 2 auto's have $3500, racing trans with 3 coolers 5 gal of trans fuild all steel geers and shift kits. Plus the pumps and tork conv's have been mod for low end power. The standard's have a few addons also i guess each rig is about 20 g's worth of stuff.Every other year they get torn down and rebuild its a job in the summer but they never fail in the winter and even my wife runs a rig ....

You seriously rebuild the 2.9 if you need too?

I honestly would swap in the 4.0, its ALOT less prone to lifter tick, and cracked heads as the 2.9, and produces a good sized amount of more power.

IF the 2.9 ever dies in my bronco II im going to try and swap in the 4.0 engine and trans.

I rebuild the hole rig drive drain ,front end, sandblast, paint ect. The problem with plowing is the chemicals, I go thru 70 plus tons of NaCl/CaCl2/MgCl2 each season rust is the problem. Even when i power wash each rig after each snow rust never sleeps. So its not the motor its the whole rig plus i have all the spare parts for the 2.9.

Yeh I know, ifr i had the money and time i would rebuild my bronco II, but the worst thing about the bronco II i think is the engine.

Do any of your 2.9's tick?
If they did, but you stoped it, how did you do this?

Mines ticking, and i want it to stop.

You are far better off spraying each truck with oil and just washing the exterior down if the trucks are kept outside. You can not completely remove the salt with the pressure washing each day. I think the worse things to rust are under the hood such as the A/C fittings.
