I've owned it since 1995. A '92 Aero, AWD, 4.0 L, Eddie Bauer extended, 144,000 miles. I just replaced front wheel bearings and axles, completed yesterday. Drove for about 2 miles this morning and the front differential shelled. Its been a good one but I guess its time to retire the old feller.
I'll be looking for another Aero and I'll still be around the site to help if I can. You all have helped me a lot in the past and I won't forget about you if I'm not driving an Aerostar. (That's a sad thought)
There's at least another 100,000 miles left on that rig - and its a top of the line model. Can replace the entire front differential for less than $400. http://drivetrain.com/dana28.html
Yeah I agree, I'm looking at 230,000 with my 93 4.0 XLTN AWD & I can't buy 1/2 the vehicle today for what I can keep my Aero "Rockin On" for. I won't pay $20K +/- for an 06 anything either, except maybe a hydrogen power plant for my Aero, if I could find one.
