Can one of y'all direct me right to a thread that goes into detail, with photos of how to, and can it be done at home on jack-stands? I did a straight pipe search and gave up. Thanx in advance.
Are you looking for installation instructions for installing a turbo-back exhaust system?
Huh? I am an old drag racer. I just thought I could hook some big tubing up to the exhaust manifold and run it out in the near stock location. Not that simple I guess. The turbo-back gives me a headache and makes me dizzy all at the same time.
If you have a mandrel bender big enough to handle the pipe, then sure you can build your own exhaust system. Thanks to the turbo, these trucks really don't need a muffler. Bend your downpipe and exhaust sections, weld them and hang it up. If you do, take pics and post your handywork. I've never seen a homemade system, and I haven't seen links to one either, but I've heard it's been done.

Turbo-back just means replacing the exhaust from the turbocharger, back (to the very end). I didn't know if you had an exhaust and were looking for install tips, or wanted to fab your own.
I got it, if you had said "collector bacK" I would have not had to appear so damn dumb. With this turbo back I started thinking back pressure or something to that affect.....LOL
other than getting a DI performance header and up-pipe kit, everyone uses stock up-pipes (from the manifolds to the turbo) and then start modifying at the turbo outlet. stock is 3", and aftermarket is 4", some are 3.5" but pointless to me. then they are all 4" to the tranny crossmember and either 4 or 5" from there out. installing is not hard, it can be done with the truck on the ground. it's pretty easy, ive taken mine off 5 or 6 times since i've had it, and im damn glad i didnt weld it in. use the clamps, the accu-seal kind, and you won't regret it.

Not that we wouldn't ALL (or most, anyway) LOVE to have a DI header and uppipe kit! Still, for $1200+, it is an unknown. Until proven otherwise (and unless you've already done everything else you can think of) the $1200 is probably better spent elsewhere.
I really am curious about it, though - Just wish I could afford to do the, uh, "investigation"!
