I have an extended cab. I thought about a crew cab, but I don't need to seat extra people often enough to justify it. Usually it is just my teenage kids and if they complain, they can walk!
Occasionally it is adults, but it is not too uncomfortable for them. It is way more comfortable back there in my 97 than it was in my 88.
It is too bad Ford didn't have a 3rd door on the OBS because it is the getting in and out that is the biggest pain. Although, again, it is much easier than the old 88 since the passenger seat slides up and out of the way in the 97.
I've had single and X-cab.... I've got to say that it's nice to thave the luxuary of throwing a few items in the back seat area to keep them dry .... my vote goes X-cab, although I love every OBS configuration!!!
I have a single cab. love the looks of it better than the ex. but sometimes it would be nice to have that extra room, but i didnt want the p.o.s front axle of the 3/4 tons.... someday i want a 1 ton crew cab 5 speed.......
Farmboy, Cab configurations have nothing to do with what axles come on the truck. The f250s had the dana 50 TTB frontends and you could get a f250 in a single, extended, or crew cab. the f350s have the dana 60s under them and they also could come in all the diffrent cab configurations.
Sorry if it came out that way, i know that the 3/4 tons had the ifs crap and the tons had the 60, but please correct me if i'm wrong but there wasent any 1 ton extended cabs made, only single and crew? Thats what i meant, i didnt want the ifs of the 3/4 ton if i bought a extended cab.
