Welcome Danzig! Like Boomer said, it looks like a transmission cooler, but I think if you'll trace the lines, it goes back to the power steering pump.

No, or at least no hitch and looks like it never had one.

I thought it was an oil cooler and then saw it did not go to the oil pan or the engine so I thought it could be a trans cooler but I knew I had no tow kit, so I had no idea what it was.

THANKS AGAIN FOR ALL THE HELP.

Thanks for the power steering info it helped me know what to look for ---------->

OK, So I did a google search for "5.4 power steering cooler" and found this.

Unless your truck is a freak, the little radiator to the passenger side is the auto tranny cooler. The one on the driver's side is the power steering cooler. If you have the HD or Tow package on the 5.4L engine, the engine oil cooler is a liquid/liquid heat transfer unit that's attached to the oil filter mount.

Thanks guys.....so if I'm reading the posts correctly the larger (black, by the way) radiator style cooler in front of the radiator on the passenger side is the auto tranny cooler....and the other smaller one (silver) is the power steering cooler.

Thanks!
