steering box removal ?
I have a 1996 f250 4x4 and I need to replace the worn steering box. My question is does the steering shaft just pull out of the top of the box or does the shaft have some kind of snap ring or something holding it into the steering box. Thanks for any help I did a search and could not find anything.

if you pull the plastic cover back down where the shaft and box meet. there is a connector. it has a couple bolts. i was looking at mine a few weeks ago. i plan to replace mine with a unit from RED HEAD STEERING GEARS. how about you?
