Does it say anything near the fuel cap about flex-fuel? THAT tells the tale.

On the one I have, there's a sticker on the back side of the fuel filler door that says "ethanol fuel or unleaded gasoline only".

E85

Oil companies have this country by the "short hairs" and Bush and company will NOT do anything to disrupt this "moaney machine" called oil. Politics have ALREADY ruined this country problem is most people have NOT realized it yet. The $.50+ IMPORT TAX on ethanol is pure proof of my statements. E85 has a 1:4 to 1 ratio with gasoline. In that, it takes 1.41 gallons of E85 to equal the energy from 1 gallon of gas. E85 can NOT be transported via pipe lines as gas can due to the water issue. Last but not least, E100 is NOT acceptable becasue it will NOT work in cold weather. E85 has promises but ONLY after DC, Bush, and the oil companies allow the free eneterprise system to "flow." Which we all know by now is a pipe dream.

Yes my truck has the label on the fuel door. Seeing as I work for a Ford dealer I knew about this before the truck was built! All 5.4 3 valve engines from 12/05 are flex fuel motors. Filled the truck up today at the Valero station that also sells E85, $2.51 a gallon and they were out of it! LOL! Got regular for $2.87 learned my lesson @weeks ago. Gary

I didn't read the whole thread so I don't know if someone already mentioned this, but I've read that you get something like 76% of the mileage per E85 that you get from the same amount of regular gas. So, the E85 would have to be at least 24% cheaper than gasoline for it to pay off.
