Well, I went to the dealer to upgrade my ride (2000 sc) for a new single cab 5sp. work trim (I will be upgrade the hell of it, rims, tires, carpet, stereo, tint, exhaust, blah blah blah) and I went home because I couldn't decide between a bright red and a dark grey metallic. What do you guys think?
Personally, i dont like the fire engine red color, it tends to fade very quickly and its just not a color i prefer. I do like the darker red, though i think that the dark gray metallic would match the unpainted bumpers of an XL much better, that way you could hold of on painting them.
I would suggest though, that if you plan to upgrade it, just go ahead and get a higher trim level, like an STX or XLT, youll thank yourself in the long run because the XL has a lot of pieces that will need to be painted on the outside to look good with rims, etc.
I would go with the gray two tone instead of the red. I also agree with bumping up to the STX trim level. That's what we have and it really looks good. Good luck with your new truck.
Me too. I think the few red trucks we see all faded out are the pore souls that the owner did'nt take care of. I think most waxes has uv blockers in them now. All paints will fade if not taking care of.
