Brake lines

My 1970 3/4 ton Ford has been setting up for three years now and I am getting it ready to put back on the road. I'm sure my brake lines are full of trash etc. How do you suggest I clean the brake lines out so I'll get no trash in my master cylinder? I have a compressor. Can I blow back through the proportion valve? I just don't know the best way to do this. My line was open at the master cyclinder all this time. A few bugs had crawled into the lines but I don't know how far they went.

Some auto parts houses have a lend -a -tool program.

I suggest you borrow a vacuum pump or if they have a self-bleeder tool, borrow that,it's the best way.

It sucks the fluid right out and into a cup.

I would replace the lines between the master cylinder and the prop valve. Cheap and simple. You may even want to replace the master cylinder also. They aren't very expensive.

Dennis & Mike and whomever,
Thanks for your replies. I have already replaced the lines to the proportion valve and the master cylinder. What does the proportion valve do? Can I used the vacuume pump to suck all the fluid out [at] the master cy.?
Thanks,
Bob

The proportioning Valve alows certain pressure to the front and rear brakes in a special way to allow first the rear brakes ,then the front.
This action is for optimum braking.

Yes, That's what the vacuum pump does !
