I like the 40 series myself. With the factory 4 cats on there, it won't be too loud. Mine isn't.

Yeah I've got the 40 series DeltaFlow on mine and it sounds very nice. Its aggressive but not too loud. It deffinately will get peoples heads turning though. I think you might be dissapointed with the tone of the 50 series compared to the 40. You might consider going with the "DeltaFlow" 40 cause it helps eleminate some of the interrior resonance. The one thing you'll want to be sure and get as well is a nice set of slash cut 3.5-4" long tips. I started out with 3.5 inch rolled tips but were only about 6 inches long. When I got the long(28"?) 3.5" slash cut tips it actually made a difference in sound, giving it a more "thunderous" sound.

Either way you go Flowmaster is a quality poduct and you will get your moneys worth.
Good Luck!

I have the 40 series flowmasters on my truck. They are quiet at idle and when accelarating they are loud enough to get someones attention but are not obnoxious.

The difference from the 40 to the 50 is that the 50 has less interior resonance, but they both sound the same at the tailpipe.
Ive got a 50 Series on my F-150 and it sounds good. Its got a nice rumble outside the truck, but inside you only really hear the exhaust when you are accelerating. At steady cruising speeds its very quiet and has a nice, mellow tone.
