I'm still waiting for an answer too.....We can all be dumb together...(haha).....I DID learn on an earlier post that it's called the "4R100", but I don't know the manufacturer.....I was REAL dumb then and called it an "L400".....
4R100 is a Ford transmission. Like a C4, C6, AOD, AOD-E, E4OD, etc. etc. As far as "where is it assembled". I'd like to know too.
The E4OD and 4R100 were assembled in Sharonville, Ohio. It's on the north side of Cincinnati, Ohio. Neither is made any more. The TorqShift, or 5R110, is now made there.
The manual transmissions have never been Ford units, and still are not.
Ford used to make a lot of their own manuals, but stopped in the 80's.
