I bought this 53 Ford F-750 from a guy in Miles, Iowa. It is currently sitting at FTE member monsterbaby's house in Chariton, Iowa, and it needs to come to Redmond, Oregon. The original idea was to get a bunch of member to do a cross country relay drive with it, but that may not be possible after all. It seems that the truck is not in as mechanically sound condition as the seller stated. The problem, is that I am not rich. I had run into a problem coming up with the funds to pay for a professional transport company to move it. The other problem is that I have a wife and three kids, and so stashing a large pile of money is nearly impossible. I can come up with a down payment, within a short period of time, but I would not be able to come up with a balance payment upon delivery. I do know that the trip is 1700 +/- miles. At roughly 10 MPG, that comes out to be roughly 170 gallons, at an average of $3-$3.20 per gallon, that comes out to roughly $500-$550 in fuel. Any ideas? I would be able to pay for half that fuel cost immediately, and the other half upon arrival. I would also be able to come up with an amount equal to that within 45-60 days. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/s...d.php?t=492288 this is one of 4 threads about this truck in the 48-60 F-series section.
man if it wern't a 3 day drive to where you are i would do it for free! but i dont ussuly get out that way and when i do im always behind in time and have a cargo trailer it wouldnt fit in !
There is a good possibilty that I could help out- If you were to have the truck on a trailer, I could pull it few hundred miles on I-80 & I-84...This could work
I may be able to help out if the timing is right - Could meet utahtom in eastern oregon and bring it the rest of the way. (Pendleton? Maybe?) I'm going to ID in a few weeks so picking it up on the way back would be easy.
Wow, I guess one way or another, the truck could make it. Hillsboro huh, I live in Redmond. I do have a guy in Pendleton that is willing to help get it to Redmond. I will have to see what I can do about aquiring a trailer, and see if I can get some hauling help to the Utah area.
