4wd conversion

I have an 89 f150 2wd and I was thinking about converting it to 4wd. everyone says just buy a 4wd but the truck has a sentimental value that I do not want to lose. I have access to a 4wd front end, driveshaft and transfer case. how hard would this be, it seems like the frame holes might be universal, and I am a metal worker myself so some minor tweaking won't be a problem. If you have any info please let me know.

The frame holes are fairly universal from similar years.

Bolt it right on.

There's a tech article here on FTE that describes how to do this, as well as a number of threads in this forum. It's pretty much a bolt on, like frederic says.
