pitman arm worn out

The ball joint on my pitman arm is worn out(I can wiggle the centerlink around and the steering has a good amount of play) and I'm trying to find out if I need to replace the center link when the pitman arm is replaced. I also need to know the cheapest place to buy a new pitman arm. Any help would be most appreciated

Is the ball joint on the pitman arm as one assembly?
I thought 1978 truck had the joint on the centerlink.

Most autopart stores carry the centerlink. Try our sponsor, AutoKrafters, Blue Oval Truck Parts, Jeff Bronco Graveyard, Mac's Antique Auto Parts, & National Parts Depot.

The Pitman arm can be found at National Parts Depot, Mac's Antique Auto Parts, and maybe Blue Oval Truck Parts.

I'm not sure about 4x4s but 2wd pitman arms are non wear parts - there are no joints to wear out. The joint is on the drag link and bolts to the pitman arm. Look at it closely, I bet you need a drag link. Most any parts store can get front end parts for you.

Truckmano5, is it possible your truck has the 1976-1977 steering setup?

The truck is a 78 f250. It has the dual piston a lug setup, and its 2wd. I don't think it has earlier model steering components, but who knows.

the truck has power steering. I meant to say that it has 8 lugs per wheel, Dual piston calipers, and full floating rear axles. I am guessing it has a heavy duty setup.

The ball joint should be attached to the centerlink. The pitman arm does not have the ball joint.
