I have a solid driver's side rear fender that has the spare tire scoop (also have the spare tire mount) . I am not planning on running the truck with the side mounted spare, would I be better off getting another fender and selling off the fender and bracket or finding a fender that I can cut that area out and fill in the scoop? anyone interested in a trade?
You would definately be better off doing a swap with someone. Those recessed fenders (and the hangers) are getting rare. Modifying your fender is a tough job to do well. The path of least resistance, don't ya know...
Depending on condition, I would guess you could expect about $100 for a used unit. (More if you go Ebay.) I think repops are about $350 for the smooth unit. Two years ago, I sold mine for $50 a piece and they had rust damage around the holes for the running board. Jag

Do you still have that spare tire bracket for the side fender? I am looking for one. I do not need the fender.
I have a rough fender that I could cut the side section for a "patch panel" to fix your fender.
The side spare fender is "rare"...sort of...most guys and gals prefer the clean look of no spare on the side.
