You can get the lights and harness from a Ford dealer. I think the lights are $6 each, and the wiring harness is $30-something. I know the part numbers and such have been posted multiple times, so a search will reveal that info. Try searching on +clearance +lights in the Superduty forum.
The only time width would come into play for cleacance lights is on duallys to make the fenders visible. The clearance lights on the roof are optional, but i really like the looks of them. If you look at refer trailers that semi's pull they have clearance lights along the top and bottom, of each side to make it visible.
How hard would it be to put a set of clearance lights onto a pickup that doesnt have them?
I was just referring to the truck itself, as it comes from the factory (no trailers attached ). Sure there are some SRW trucks that require them like Hummers but our trucks don't.
Actually I thought that only the thing that's over 80" requires them, so if you're towing a large trailer with a car, the car doesn't require them, but the trailer does. Or say you put a camper on your SRW Superduty, the camper requires them but the truck does not. I guess if that's not right I need to do a little research!

Actually, the three lights in the center on the roof ARE required if you're over 80" wide. They're called ID lights, and consist of three lights centered on the truck's vertical line, and must be spaced between 6 and 12" apart. Same as the ID lights on the rear below the tailgate. The three on the front must be amber, three on the rear must be red. The outer two on the roof are just clearance lights.
And for adding them if you don't have them, check the article I posted in the post above yours, from Emotoman. It's an article that a lot of folks have used as a guide for adding them themselves, successfully. Seems the hardest part is just getting the nerve to drill that first hole.

I hear ya on the drilling part, it's always nerv wrecking to alter the body not knowing how it'll come out sometimes. I'm gonna wait till my dad helps me out...I;m only 22 and tend to rush things when I work alone sometimes, older folks are very attentive to detail nothin against yall....I just want some assurance
Regular pickups arent over 80" though are they? Thats why the lights dont come stock on every pickup, generally only diesels, and always duallys, because duallys are over 80 inches. Thats my guess at least

No, the cab lights are not optional on a dually, FMVSS standards require the lights to be on the cab as well as the widest part of the vehicle which would be the fenders.

You are correct, a SRW pickup is not 80 inches wide, therefore, no cab lights required. (and you don't include the mirrors in the 80" measurement) If you see a SRW pickup with cab lights, it was either added at the factory as an option, or someone added them aftermarket.
Back in the days when F150's F250's & F350's used the same cabs, you could order cab lights on any one of the vehicles. Today, you can not get a F150 from the factory with cab lights.
Its the same as logging trucks or highway trucks...visibility. It makes sense too, anything that takes up so much room needs to be marked as that sort of vehicle. Up here having burnt out clearance lights will land you a ticket worth a few hundred bucks. But not having your fenders on a dually marked is just plain dumb, which is why you must have them. I never disagreed with that. Thats good to know though, that 80" is the line where clearance lights are required. Personally, i like having them, people know who the are meeting, and when i meet somebody with clearace lights i know what it is i am meeting.

I should have been clearer there, i mean on pickups in general, not on duallys, i know those are a must have.
