94 Ranger headunit....HELP

well my not so handy dad was trying to put a new cd player in his 94 ford ranger extended cab because the stock radio stopped working. Well him being the not so smart guy he is decided to cut the harnesses and try hard wiring it all up. I can get power to the cd player but I am just lost on the speakers. I've tried all the variations I can think of and I cant get any sound running through. His birthdays coming up and I would like to get a radio up and running in there for him. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks guys.

try www.installdr.com It has all sorts of stuff that may help you get on your way. Post back if you didn't find what you need.

Just for future reference (or current), the speaker sizes are 6"x8" all around, not 6.5" and 5"x7". If those colors don't line up I can pull my radio again and see what colors mine are (I have a '94 Ranger). Wish I had seen this yesterday, I had my radio out anyways after my mom hit it on accident and it wouldn't work.
