A Computer-Music-Email-Question

Can one send music to an email address?

A buddy of mine wants to send a track from a CD to some lady he knows.

I believe he has iTunes, but I'm not sure.

So can this be done?

It can be done. The music can be sent as a .mp3, .wav or other file attachment. However, there may be some limitations by the ISPs (Internet Service Providers) involved as to the maximum size of the file that can be sent.

I'm pretty sure Music files (wav,Mp3) can be made into Zip files for transport via e-mail

I don't know if itunes rips and compresses to mp3 or not, but that's what he'll have to do. One of the better rippers is AudioGrabber. Send the file just like a jpg or other file.

Copy the song on to the computer, in a file that uses the least amount space and send it as an attachment.

If it is too big download WinZip and Zip the fle up and send it.

It's that simple.

Most Isp's have decent sized mailboxes. might have a problem with freebee email boxes

You can't compress an mp3. They're already compressed. If you zip it, it will actually grow a little bit from the zip headers in the file.

Just send it like you would any other attachment.
