The Bronco's gone :-(

Hit a tree night before last. It's totalled, but it kept me safe. Don't know what I'm gonna replace it with (possibly a Bronco II), but I do want to strip some parts to sell off of it before I finalize everything. Check my list, anything I'm forgetting? Anything on there that I shouldn't bother with?

- Siphon the gas out
- Spare tire carrier
- Wheels/tires
- T-case
- E4OD Trans
- Rear axle
- Stereo / speakers
- Seats?
- Dash panels or gauges?
- Steering wheel?

The top was off and is in my garage, that's going too.

Sorry to hear about the Bronc's loss. If you decide to get another, you might want to wait if possible to get rid of the old one until you know what the new one needs. Assuming of course you decide to get another.

Hey, stay with the big boys (it will be a pain to get used to anything else and there are good Broncos on the market), get another full-size also, you should listen to what Massey said.

Glad to see you are ok after the accident. With that said, there is no selling in the forums. I HIGHLY suggest that any such activities be kept to email and private messages.

Sorry to hear about the wreck. It's good that your still with us.

I also might be interested in the seats. Are they power?
Also for stripping, don't forget the engine.
Are the side view mirrors any good and are they power?
On a note, A BII aint near as safe as a fullsize.

Sorry to hear about the loss. With all those extra parts laying around now, go for another full-size. I did that and its currnetly saving me the cost of rebuilding an E4OD.

Well, sorry I never got back to any of y'all. It got kinda crazy after that.

Anyway, my insurance guy and I sat down and figured out that selling it to the salvage yard would actually be OK financially, since my Dad didn't want to have it sitting on our property. So, no parts. Oh well.

As to the guy who said why downgrade to a Bronco II? Simple: I need a 4x4 and that's all I can afford. I'm too poor right now to afford an FSB. So we'll see.

Consider for a moment though that the newest B-II you are gonna be able to get is about mid-eighties before Ford dropped the line. You could find an "early Bronco" (66-77) model that would be as inexpensive and extrememly simple to maintain for the kind of money you would be spending on a "deuce". (And you'd have a truck with better running gear than the B-II EVER had... the 66-77's had the same axles under them as the fullsize...well after about 1969). The "deuce" was never as stable as the full-size or the original Bronco on or off road. Obviously, the choice is yours but were I given your situation to contend with, I'd be looking for an early 80's or even a 78-79 if you want a fullsize or an early model if you want something easy to work on and as stable as the full-size.

grey, I've looked at any and every year Bronco.
I've seen alot of mid 80s Bronco IIs go for about $1,500.
I've seen alot of 78 79 broncos go for the same price in decent shape, which would be alot stronger and better than a BII, but I've never seen a EB for $1,500(driveable).
I'm currently looking at a few 77 Broncos and the one rusted up pretty bad(in terable need of paint)is about $2,000 and hasn't been driven on the road in a few year 5 or so.
Mid 80s on up FSBs are to expensive for me.

Of coarse get what you can, but you never know, you might be able to get somthing alot stronger and more reliable(just alittle older)for the same price as a BII. Just a thought.

Yeah, I've also never seen an early Bronco on the cheap.

I'm still undecided as to what I'm getting. I know it needs to be 4x4, and cheap, and honestly, I'd rather have a carb'd vehicle again. I never could warm up to EFI. But that won't really be a dealbreaker...if I see something decent for $1500 or even $2000, I'll just get it. I'm not overly choosy on what it is anyway.

Now if I had time, money, and better metalworking skills, what I'd really like to have is a Ford T-bucket rat rod...
