2001 f250

What would you do 2 a 2001 f250 diesel? i trying to figure somethin what i would need to run jody's 140hp flip chip? also what do yall all run exhaust wise (4in 5in mbrp?)

i have the same truck and I have the 5in.no muffler and it sounds great you will want to become a member of the "CANNON" Club its well worth it if you like the sound

Before a chip - you should really have at the VERY least - gauges.... and should also have an intake and exhaust to (safely) get the most out of a chip.

well let me ask this... what has ppl done to run the 140hp flp chip safely?

exactly what Cat_man said.... intake, exhaust, and most important, gauges to monitor the temps.

A 120 setting will dyno higher numbers then the 140 setting with the mods you have planned. I HIGHLY doubt your stock hpop will be able to supply the injectors and you're not going to have enough boost to make big power.

here is my dyno results. mods in gallery.

stock was about 202hp/408lb-ft
run on 100hp was 283hp and 563lb-ft??
run on 140hp was 291hp and 579lb-ft.

so, the "140hp" setting was only 89RWHP for me. but, lots of smoke!

Here is my combo on my 01 since I got pms from this site. Gauges, jodys 4 positon chip. stock,40tow, 80 economy, 120 race. 4 inch exhaust straight piped turbo back. 6637 filter. My truck will smoke tires out of the hole all day long. If I take off slow and hammer from a roll it still lauches great. But to be honest i mostly run in 80 mode. My egts get to 1200 fast from a dead stop on 80 and it smokes quite a bit. I was actually gonna call jody and ask about it. I wouldnt have any other chip though. Just remember the more power you give it the more stress on other parts. Also Depending on when your engine build date was you have the weaker rods. I havent checked my build date yet. I hope someone responds to this and tells me the date again. this site and all the people are helpfull and great but get ready to spend some money. It is a major addiction.........lol

You better look in that hole on the side of the block. The sticker on my valve cover has a build date of 09 Sep 00 and it has PMRs in it.
