Dually Conversion???
Dually Conversion???
I have a 94 F-250 4X4 extended cab and was wondering what all is involved in converting it into a dually. If I have to I can just leave the front like it is but I would rather do it right. I already have a dually bed lined up for it.

i want to do the same with my 89 f-150. So far I have found an axle and rear fenders but I am not sure if anything is different in the front. I'm putting in bigger sway bars and new lower springs.
you shouldnt have to replace anything up front. your frontend (esp on a 250) is plenty stout enough. it sounds like you have the right idea in the rear but keep in mind that the driveshafts might be different lengths due to the carrier size and what not. you will also need the axle, wheels and tires, its smart to go ahead and do the brakes too, and brake lines. i cant really think of anything else off the top of my head but im sure there is more.
the front of the 250 is the same as a 350 front you just install the budd wheel spacers like stock. but the rear is where the trouble is , you need to cut and bend the frame. the frame for a dually truck is 4.5'' more narrow than a single rear wheel truck.
Remember that dually wheels have wildly different offsets as compared to "regular" F-wheels, and you'd want the front wheels to be the same as the back wheels on the dually axle - so you only have to carry one spare, and be able to use that spare in all six wheel positions.
I *think* the lug pattern is slightly different to, but I'm not sure.
But its easy enough to set right... just find a dually in the junkyard and leech the front spindles, calipers, rotors, and ball joints and you're good to go.
I actually collected all these parts, but buried them in the other garage bay so I'm not getting to them for several years.
