Ignition Switch Wiring Diagram
My question. I'm re-wiring a 1968 Ford School Bus (750 series), and my ignition switch went out. I've been trying to trace all of the wires to make sure they get hooked up into the replacement system, but I cannot figure out what the two purple wires do. According to my multimeter, they get no power in any position of the key, but I don't know if my switch is out or not. The placement of these wires is, when looking at the back of the ignition, above and to the right of the main power in. There also is a blank terminal next to them.
Thanks in advance guys!!

Ok I think the violet wire to the dual brake warning light would be a ground to test the light when the key is turned to start.
So if both wires are on the same terminal of the ignition switch, one would be led to think that they are both wires that require a ground when the key is set to start.
Which brings up the question why does the alternator need a ground during start?? Maybe for the alternator warning light test????
Check the terminal they are install on for a ground when the key is turned, instead of for voltage.
