any one on here have it? any over the counter medication available to make it better,or at least go away for awhile? I had one spot on my hip and one on my foot 2 years ago, then it dried up and went away. now it is back on my ankles. I really don't want to go to the Dr. if there is something over the counter I can use. thanks for any ideas/suggestions....Ben
Yes I do and you do not have it very bad. There are many types. Go get some psoriasin liquid at the drug store. This will help keep it knock down. Also check out. Also check out National Psoriasis Foundation web site.
Keep your feet cool and try to wear shoes that won't cause much sweat.
I am using a white cream that is called "Utterly SMOOth" udder cream that helps quite a bit. It is for chaped and dry cow udders(don't laugh), and it does wonders for the feet and ankles.(alright, you can laugh if you want to)
I have lived with this problem for many years. It is the best it has been in 15 years now, but sometimes I still get woke up at night from the itching.
I changed my diet to very little sugar, no artifical sugars(they made it worse), no cola drinks, no fast food, only about one meal a week that is processed food, more vegetables(frozen & fresh), lean fresh meat, not as much bread, and more water. This helped the most, plus my weight, blood pressure, and all levels of cholesterol are lower.
Recently I was taking some mild steroids for another problem that seemed to almost clear up my psoriasis. I just don't want to take more medicines than I have to. I have so many different things wrong with me that if I took medicine for all of it I would take pills around the clock.
As for now, I take two pills a day and bear the pain.
I have a credit card size patch on my knee, and smaller patches on the back of my head. So I avoid dark colored shirts. I got some samples of Olux, I think its a steroid. That worked the best for me. Its a foam/ mouse, need a prescription, and expensive. But its clean as water.
I have it and have fought it ever since I was a kid. Mine is not as bad a years past but I still have spots that pop up on my face and I use an over the counter product, Cortizone 10 on mine with good results.
I've had mine for over twenty yrs now. I've used steroid cream that I've bought over the counter in Mexico for about the same amount of time. It keeps it knocked down for a bit but still not as good as UV light, whether thats the sun or a tanning bed. Mine can get pretty bad, face, trunk , butt, knees and elbows so if I don't keep on top of it, it can get ugly. Of course living in Alaska doesn't help it any, dry, dark and cold.
