I need to repack my wheel bearings. I've never done this before, but from what I'm finding out, I need a large socket nut (about 2-1/2"), maybe another round socket-like tool with a few small protrusions, and another tool for knocking out seals by using a hammer. Also, I'm told I might need a puller for the front manual locking hubs.
Can someone please explain the procedure for repacking the front wheel bearings and when to use each of those tools? Thanks. I have a '95 4x4 manual locking hubs F-350. The locking hub has 6 or so screws holding the hub cover one. I think that's the indications of whether or not it is pre or post April, 1995.
And is the procedure apprx. the same for the rear axle?
I have a service manual but I don't think it explains things well. Thanks.
