im working on a 70 crewcab, 4 door F-250, its pretty cherry, 72,000 miles on a 300 6, with a non original 4 speed. the owner wants to turn it into a dually so im currently looking for the flares and spacers and stuff. its got the full floating axle on it , but we dont know where to get the flares. Does anyone here know? looking for efi manifolds as well...
The first Ford factory dually was 1980. They did have an F-350 beginning in 1973 with a longer wheelbase and enlarged rear wheel openings for extra-large wheels and tires.

Don't know zackly what you mean by first factory dually. The duallys generally start at the F&E 350 level and were around much earlier than 73.
I have a '67 dually cab&chassis. It was outfitted with a dump box and was used as a grain truck for many years. If you'd like to have a look, click Here.

I think that truck has a lot of potential very nice. I would not mind working that my self. I remember I was driving one of those out in the field when I was 9 years old.
my crappy email account from the college JUST notified me of a post. i dont use the computer much on break. yeah, this truck is just sweet , so was your dually! that actually looks pretty darn solid, id love to have one with a dump. I STILL cannot find fender Flares for that darn thing ive been looking on ebay with no luck. If anyone has a set id buy them as soon as i could, that goes for a good condition dually axle as well, or even just the spacers.
yeah, ill try, i know we have a digital camera around here somewhere. i still cant find those fender flares. we're redoing the brakes o nthat truck now. it doesnt get driven much and the wheel cylinders are locking up
I feel it could be done, with al ot of look and look good also. The first thing I would do would be get a F350 with duals and build from their up.I'm not sure how post 80 dual fenders would line up on a early bed. You would have to hold them to the body and check then go from there.
there was kits for 73 to 79 for the fender and using a dually rearend hub. i seen 72 once over the years where the put a 350 rear end under the truck and used glass fenders of a late 70s chevy.
Not until the 80s. I saw a 70 the other day, somebody put a bed on it, and used what looked like cut up old tires to extend the fenders out over the wheels. It looked -ok-, but I wouldn't do it to my own truck.
and where did you see that at? come on you can tell.
