Hey guys, a couple of friends of mine (which by the way one drives a Dodge and the other a Chevy both diesels I myself drive a 2006 F-250 6.0) want to race on a 1/4 mile track against each other, so my question is, who would win? Now we all said that we would take the programmers out, just the trucks and all of them with the air filter kit.
first off, you need to compare apples to apples. do all of you have automatic trannies? will you be launching in 4hi or in 2hi?
what year trucks are they?im guessing the cummins is the new common rail version? so they are all bone stock, except for filters? what about exhausts?
There are probably about 1,000 unanswered questions just for the trucks in themselves--including cab & bed configurations, engines, gearing, trannies, 4x2 or 4x4, etc.
Getting beyond the trucks themselves, you also have to take into account that driver reaction alone can make just about any semi-closely matched vehicle a consistent winner.
I doubt you would want to hear what I really want to say!
in one of the DP magizines they tested each of the three, all 4x4, all auto trans, all crew cabs and all 2004 models. Dodge 16.80 sec., Ford 16.83 sec., Chevy 16.93 sec in the 1/4 mile
Those were 04s though, all the 05/06 trucks have more power
not much for the Dodge and Ford, both have the same HP (325) and have only increased in TQ by 10 ft lbs (600-610 for the dodge and 560-570 for the ford) the chevy has been pumped up quite a bit since '04, hp has gone from 310 to 360 and tq has gone from 590 ft lbs to 650 ft lbs. so if the are all 06's i would put my money on the chevy.
All of them are 2006, all of them are automatic, crew cab, 4X4, I was thinking launching in 4hi, all of them have the stock exhaust (mine is on the way ) basically all of them are the same!
Any more questions that you guys might have for me to help me out just go ahead and post them!!!!
