with the rebuilding of my 69 Crewcab 4x4, i want to add Power steering, but do not want to hack and cut the frame etc...I have a 76 Disc brake dana 44 going in for the front, Can i use a 76 Ram style power steering setup???I know there are haters and lovers of this system....Or is there something else i can use??I heard something about a Ford Van steering box etc can work???Looking for ideas while i'm down to the frame and getting ready to rebuild!
re-power steering----I just finished with a complete mechanical rebuild on a 77 f250 4x4 , and i refurbished ALL components of the system ----I essentially wasted my money---and I'm very disappointed to say the least------Order an LMC catalogue and you will see the various ps systems------the old power-assist was replaced in the middle of the 77 year model , with 78 and 79 basically having the same ps system ---so(if you are a savy restorer) don't keep the old system-----convert-convert-convert----to a 77.5 thru 79 style system and you will feel good cause your Boss will beable to drive your truck while you consume your favorite beverage , backup your truck to your bass boat , or whatever , and she won't be abitchin' bout' dat damned ole power steering , fd :-X11 :-X11
