Found an interesting web site regarding Ford's Chester, PA Assembly plant

According to my VIN, my truck was assembled at the Chester, PA assembly plant. So I thought I'd look around on the web for any information about this plant. I found this web site and thought it was pretty cool so I decided to share it with the group.

The first 3 digits are for the series. Mine is F10 for F100. The 4th digit is for the engine size. Mine is V for a 239 V-8. The 5th digit is for the year. Mine is a 4 for 54. The 6th digit is for the assembly plant. Mine is C for Chester, PA.

For other assembly plant codes google it and you'll find it. Search for Ford truck data plate codes for your year.

Welcome to the forum, cevers! Please start a new thread, introduce yourself and tell us about your truck. Pictures are even better. We'll be happy to answer your questions. Doing it in your own thread will make the questions and answers more relevant.

Good point, Wayne. I forgot to welcome you, Cevers, to the best truck forum ever!

The data plate I showed you would be the same for 53-56. 48-52 might be different. What year truck do you have?

My 52 was made at the Chester plant. I was born in the Chester hospital. My parents were both from Chester and my FIL worked for Ford for a few years after WW2. My Mom and Lee Iacocca first wife were friends growing up he met his wife at the Chester Plant. Chester was once a booming city with plenty of business there. They had a shipyard which was one of the biggest on the east coat, the Ford plant, Scott paper is still there now Kimberly Clark. But sadly now the city is mostly a wasteland. The old Chester website is no longer supported or updated but there are a couple of Old Chester FB groups. I'm about 40 miles from Chester so this is as far as my F1 ever got!

Jeff, was your 53 built at Chester? Living in Syracuse perhaps it was built at Buffalo. That would be a B on the data plate.
