thanks to everyone on this site who responded to my previous question about an electrical problem. The ignition switch was the problem.
But now I have another question. what is it that makes your radio remember the last station you were listening to when you shut it off. Every time that I turn on the radio on it goes to the same station and whenever I change the channel to what I want and then shut of the truck and turn it back on it goes back to the same station again. Also the clock does not keep time. when i had it in my other truck it did the same thing so is it the radio with the problem?
thanks
brad

It would be nice to know :
Which Year Truck ?
Which Radio Stereo ?

I would think it is the Fuse for the memory or is a key on power postion.
And the radio Power is a Keyed Postion power supply thus throwing everything back to the start.
Am would go back to 530
FM would go to 87.1 or something like that.

Make sure the memory power(Yellow)is on power all the time.

the year of the truck is 1969 and the radio is not original. and yes whenever the power is turned back on it goes to 88.1. I can turn the radio off and back on and it remembers the station but whenever i turn the truck on and off it will not remember. where is the memory fuse located?
thanks

There should be a yellow wire with a In-Fuse on it coming out the back of the stereo.'
The Blue wire is usually the Antenna wire for making an antenna go up and down,so don't worry about that one.

These trucks were never equipped with a "constant hot" or "memory" power lead to the radio. If the radio in your truck was installed properly, the installer would have run a new power lead to it. The main lead is switched with the ignition, and is on whenever the ignition switch is in the "accessory", "run" or "start" positions, but he would have added a separate lead that is hot regardless of whether the ignition is on. If you only have one power lead to your radio, you need to add a constant hot lead for the radio memory.

Brad, a good place to tap in for the constant power is the cigar lighter.
