I have seen people here post that you can get them for $100.00 I have seen completely rebuilt third members for about $250 with your selection of gears. Pic-N-Pull will sell you a complete rearend for about $75. I believe.

I got mine free from my brother who had about three of them in his back yard.

dog, A lot depends on the ratio, a 3.75 LS might bring $350.00 while a 3.00 open $25.00.

What are you looking for? a housing? a third member?

Stout third members will set you back a easy 1300 bucks. that is one that may live behind serious horse pressure 400 HP+ Minium 31 splines and 35 or 41 recommended.

I get housings for 25 bucks at the u pullit.
I get third members for 30 bucks.

Typically they are 28 or 31 splines. the 31 spline units being stronger than the 28 spline units.

You can get a complet rear custom built for around 1800 to 2500 depending on the options from currie.

pre 64 housings use an un reinforced housing and are typically weaker
64 and up use a dimpled housing. and there fore stronger.

Another good choice is a Fabricated housing form either Moser or Strange. Currie offers one too but is over priced.

Or you may opt for a 10 bolt....LOL
