I posted this in the super duty forum too, but I'm just not ready to venture out of the diesel section. . . it scares me, I fear change But. . .
I have a problem with my ABS. It won't shut off. Its the work of the devil. Today when spinning my tires through an intersection, I put the clutch in and allow the tires to regrip, but when I tried to stop, it was impossible to do, because the ABS would not deactivate. Good thing nothing was in my way. I literally could not stop my truck. I noticed that I can get the abs to activate while sitting at a red light, just by pushing on the brake pedal a little harder than normal. I know this isn't right. If theres a way to fix it, I'll give it a chance, otherwise I just want it gone. Thanks.

Whoa!! . I would find the fuse for the ABS and pull it. That should shut off the system and give you non-ABS brakes. You'll most likely get a bunch of beeping and the light on the dash, but at least you will be able to stop.
I've just finished reading some serious flame wars in the super duty section on abs brakes. I've found what I already thought, they have their place. Mine I think are not working properly. They seem way too sensitive. . . but I have had more problems stopping because of them then not. In both cases, they were dangerous to me. Very dangerous. But anyway, the fuse for the abs, seems to control multiple other things. Is there a modual that I can unplug by the brake pedal?

Well I have no codes. . . woah, is this pink? what the deuc? Anyway, as far as the truck knows, its working properly. Never had a light on in the dash. I just don't like how it feels. Its never once helped me stop better, and its kept me from stopping multiple times.

My 2 cents, (I hav'nt looked at mine yet to see about this) there might be a switch in the brake pedel arm that activates the ABS under heavy presure, if there is could this use adjusting, second, if you look at the ABS control block I would guess there would be away to unplug it, since it only gets the pulse from the exciter rings near the brakes and/or insidie the rear diff...
Hope this helps
