Sun Visors
I did a quick search and didn't find anything so here goes......
My "New To Me" 1965 F-100 project was in need of replacement sun visors,
and since I can't just go and get the original style ones from the local parts store,
I figured I would try something different.
I had a set of sun visors lying around from another project,
the visors are from a 1990 Ford Truck/Bronco and happened to be red,
handy as my Truck was originally red & white and will be returned to those colours eventually.
01) Remove the long rod that goes into the visors (both the old and newer style),
it is also the main mounting point for the visors.
02) Slide the newer style visor onto the older style mounting hardware/long rod.
03) Remove the retaining clasp for the older style visors from the roof,
line up the retainer clasp with the new visor and mark where the new mounting hole will be drilled.
04) Use a 1/8th drill bit to make the new mounting hole,
reinstall the original retaining clasps.
05) Clip the new visor to the original hardware and sit back enjoying your improvement.
The main reason behind this was because I had the newer style sun visors lying around,
so the price was the best you can ever get... FREE!
and the original 1965 visors were very worn out, worth trying something different I figured.
An added bonus is the newer visors have a mirror for the passenger, can be important for some.

I saw this so I whipped out to the junkyard and got some Ranger visors, just like those that you have.
It all worked out pretty well but they seem too loose.
Any idea how to go about tightening them up a few hairs?

I was just trying something different and it seems to have a positive result.
As for the Ranger visors,
a friend and I were talking about it,
the only thing we can figure is either the visor was somewhat worn out (to cause it to be loose) or
that the main rod is a different diameter than the ones used for the fullsize trucks like I had used when I did the swap.
I'm not too sure as to what the difference would be since I don't have any Ranger visors to look at,
so I really haven't an idea on how to solve the problem.
Hopefully someone has an idea for a fix to that problem.
