Ac troubles
PLease help. I have an 01 supercrew 4x4 and whenever the controls are in AC modes, the truck will almost stall at idle. When the compressor kicks in, the rpms drop very low and will stall if left long enough. If engaged at hiway speed it seems to work and blows cold. Thanks for any help.

Sorry that no one has replied until now.
It sounds like you may have a bad IAC (Idle Air Control) valve. It opens or closes depending on the load on the engine. Essentially it works like if you put your foot on the throttle a bit when the A/C turns on to compensate for the extra load.
You may be able to clean it but the best repair is probably to replace it.

Thanks for the response Racerguy. Sounds like a good place to start. I'm not real mechanically inclined and have paid some expensive repair bills at what turned out to be not so reputable garages. At least now it will sound like I know what I'm talking about when I take it in. Thanks again.
