High tech gas thieves.

Saw this in the paper today and thought I would share. What would you do if you pulled up to the pump and got free gas?

I would figure something was up and let whoever was in charge know. Yeah....I'm honest like that.

I'd swing by with the truck loaded with 55 gal drums.

you'd think the station would figure it out when every pump was constantly being used all day long

Hey guys! I'm set for life as it goes for gas.

Oops! Wrong forum.

Just heard on the news over here that some companies that make the plastic numbers for the gas price signs are receiving orders for the number 4.

Makes no sense.

If fit does go up to $4.00/gallon; gonna be more thefts.

Pay for it and tell the clerk, and maybe write a letter to the station owner to make sure they did not get ripped off more.

What were the clerks doing when the pumps were running and the display inside said 20 gallons for $0.00??? -They were probably busy calling their friends and telling them there was free gas! I would fire every last one of them that was on duty.

Personally I would have reported it to the clerk on duty and if they did not shut down the pumps immediately I would use the emergency shutoff switch for fires or spills and call the police. The police could contact the owner/manager.

Unless the amount displayed on the pump was different than displayed at the clerk's desk.

You would think it would be the same amount shown on both displays.

I'd pay for what I pumped. IMO, bad luck comes to people that steal stuff.

some place up north had a computer glitch and sold gas for .002 a gallon. I would do the same in this situation.

1.) Fill up my truck
2.)Head home and call my friends and tell them
3.)Go back with the wife's truck and fill it up
4.)make sure i got all the gas i need, and then tell the clerk. I figure it wont last long anyway, so why not look like the good guy. :-/

Ain't no such thing as free gas.
Now we can figure on some of the price increases that are sure to come to be accounted for by the cost of security upgrades to the delivery system.
Joe Driver will foot the bill for the ones that steal. You can be sure the companies won't absorb that cost on their own.
