I just installed a new Holly 1BBL carburetor on my '66 F100. There are two small inlets (one was capped with a blue rubber cap). I attached the vacuum line to each one individually changing the cap back and forth. The thing floods like crazy and oozes gasoline down through the accelerator pum area. Any tips. It sem like a pretty simple straight forward install. HELP!
Thanks. You're probably right. I'll give it good rap in the morning and see if it works. Like whackin' you're old RCA TV with the rabbit ears that is down in the basement!
I'm new and couldn't find anywhere obvious to post this, so here goes. I have a '66 F100with a FOMOCO single-barrel, and I stupidly broke the plastic rod that goes into the float bowl vent while removing the bowl cover for cleaning. Bexcause it's spribng loaded the end popped out and it simply cannot be found. I have been told that I can just plug that vent hole and leave it. Does anyone have any advice on this? thanks

You have two threads on the same problem...I posted info in your other thread.
I posted a question about the vent rod and JimKoz kindly directed me to this thread. Everything written here makes sense to me given my experience with my Autolite 1100. I was told (by a outfit where I placed an order for a replacement rod!) that I could just plug the hole. But it does seem to serve a purpose as indicated above. In fact, I've noticed that if you manually push your throttle wide open, that rod will activate and push in, as suggested by its function as described above. By the way, I have a line on a used carb complete with rod that I can pick up for 30 bucks, so I'm just going to get it and use the rod. Never know when you'll want a carb part anyway. Alos, the link below has an illustration of the rod and the adjustment procedure. Just go to the F-1100 pdf link. Thanks again JimKoz.
