bed cap question

I have a 04 f250 and i would like to replace the factory plastic bed caps with brite diamond aluminum ones (same for the tailgate). I have read here that some people experience the paint rubbing off and rust from the diamond plated bed caps. Has anyone put line-x on the bed caps then installed the diamond plated caps on top? Any brand of bed caps you woud recomend?

I did the same thing with my Ranger, with the plastic rail covers. I liked the look of the Line-X so much that I left them off. But, to answer your question, it will definitely cure any rubbing problems.

Take the plastic rail covers off to reveal about 20 holes measuring about 1.5" by .75" on each side. Do not use a spray-on liner on the rails. FYI, I'm a LINE-X dealer.

But TruckDaddy, i just wanted the line-x on my bed rails as protection from the aftermarket bright diamond plated bed rails. i would not even want to see the line-x extend past the diamond plated bed rails. R U saying that due to the 20 holes that line-x could not b applied at all? does any one know why they have all those holes?
